Sign in with Google or Microsoft
You can use a Google or Microsoft account to sign up for Hypervalent Studio and sign in, instead of (or as well as) a password. Studio only sees the basics it needs to recognise you — see what Studio receives.
Sign up or sign in
On the sign-in or sign-up page, choose Sign in with Google or Sign in with Microsoft (on the sign-up page, Sign up with …). The provider asks you to approve access, then sends you back to Studio, signed in.
- The first time, Studio creates your account from the provider's details and gives you an organization of your own, named after you — you can rename it on the first screen. Continuing with a provider accepts the Terms and Privacy Policy, as the sign-up page says.
- After that, the same button signs you straight in.
- The provider must have verified your email address. Studio will not create an account from an address nobody has proven they own. For a Microsoft work or school account, that means your organization has verified the address's domain with Microsoft.
Private beta
While Studio is invitation-only, a provider can only create an account for someone who was invited. Use the link in your invitation email — see Joining from an invitation.
Joining from an invitation
The Accept invitation page shows the provider buttons too. Choose one and, when the provider confirms an email address that matches the invitation, your new account joins the organization that invited you, with the role you were given — no extra organization is created.
- The match uses every address the provider has verified, not just its primary one. Your Studio account then uses the invited address.
- If none of the provider's verified addresses matches, Studio says so instead of creating an account. Use the account the invitation was sent to, or accept with a password.
- If you already have a Studio account, signing in this way accepts the invitation for that account, just as signing in with a password does. With two-factor authentication on, accept it from Studio after you sign in.
Connect or disconnect a provider
Go to Account → Security → Connected accounts.
- Connect: every available provider you have not connected has a Connect button. If your account has a password, Studio asks you to confirm it first. You then approve access at the provider and return to the same page, which confirms the provider is connected. From then on you can sign in with it.
- The provider account you connect does not need to use the same email address as your Studio account.
- Disconnect: removes that sign-in method. Studio will not let you disconnect your last way to sign in — set a password first if a provider is the only one you have.
Each provider account can belong to only one Studio account. To move it to another Studio account, disconnect it from the first one.
Two-factor authentication still applies
If your account has two-factor authentication turned on, signing in with a provider does not skip it: after the provider sends you back, Studio asks for your authenticator code (or a recovery code) before you are in.
For Microsoft 365 administrators
Studio signs people in with their Microsoft work or school account (Microsoft Entra ID). It requests only the basic sign-in permissions: openid, profile, email and User.Read ("Sign you in and read your profile"). It does not read mail, files, calendars or your directory.
Studio creates an account from a work or school address only when your organization has verified that address's domain in Microsoft Entra ID (Identity → Settings → Domain names). Microsoft vouches for the address only then; for an address on a domain you haven't verified, Studio refuses to create the account. Users who already have a Studio account can still connect Microsoft from Account → Security.
If your organization does not let users consent to apps themselves, they will see a message that they need admin approval. An administrator (at least a Cloud Application Administrator) can approve Hypervalent Studio for everyone in either of two ways:
- From Studio: choose Sign in with Microsoft yourself. On Microsoft's permission screen, tick Consent on behalf of your organization, then Accept.
- From the Microsoft Entra admin center: go to Identity → Applications → Enterprise applications, open Hypervalent Studio, and under Security → Permissions choose Grant admin consent for your organization. (The app is listed once someone in your organization has tried to sign in.)
You can review or revoke the approval from Enterprise applications at any time.
What Studio receives

| Name | ✓ | ✓ |

| The provider's ID for your account | ✓ | ✓ |
| Profile picture | ✓ | — |
Studio stores your name, picture, one email address and the provider's ID for your account. It never receives your provider password, and it does not keep the provider's access token, read anything else, or post on your behalf. The full details are in the Privacy Policy.
If something goes wrong
| What Studio says | What to do |
|---|---|
| An account already exists for this email | That address already has a password account. Sign in with your password, then connect the provider from Account → Security. |
| That provider hasn't verified your email address | Google: verify the address with Google, then try again. Microsoft work or school account: you can't fix this yourself. Microsoft vouches for the address only when your organization has verified its domain, so ask your IT administrator (see above). Or use a personal Microsoft account or Google, or sign up with email and a password. |
| New accounts are invitation only right now | Studio is in private beta. Use the link in your invitation email, or request an invite. |
| None of the email addresses that provider has verified matches the invitation | Use the provider account the invitation was sent to, verify that address with the provider, or accept the invitation with a password. With a Microsoft work or school account, the address counts as verified only when your organization has verified its domain (see above). |
| That invitation is no longer valid | It expired, was revoked, or was already used. Ask whoever invited you to send a new one. |
| That account is already connected to a different user | The provider account belongs to another Studio account. Disconnect it there first. |
| Signing in with … isn't available right now | That provider is not enabled. Use another way to sign in. |
| This account isn't active, so it can't sign in | The account was deactivated (or never verified). Ask your organization's administrator to reactivate it. |
| Couldn't complete sign-in with that provider | You may have cancelled at the provider, or the request expired. Start again from the sign-in page. |
Frequently asked questions
I changed my email address at Google or Microsoft. Can I still sign in?
Yes. Studio recognises a connected provider by the provider's own ID for your account, not by its email address, so changing the address at the provider does not affect signing in. Your Studio account keeps the email address it already had — change that under Account → Edit account.
If you moved to a different provider account (a new Google account, say), that is a new identity: sign in another way — your password, or the old provider account — then connect the new one from Account → Security.
It says an account with this email already exists
You (or someone with your address) already have a Studio account with a password. For your safety Studio does not attach a provider to a password account on its own. Sign in with your password, open Account → Security, and choose Connect next to the provider. Forgot the password? Use Forgot password on the sign-in page first.
